Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science visits SDC

09 January 2025

Students and faculty started out 2025 with a visit from back home. On 6 January, Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science, Christina Egelund, visited SDC together with representatives from several Danish universities, including University of Copenhagen, University of Southern Denmark, Technical University of Denmark and Copenhagen Business School.

SDC Director Morten Laugesen hosted the visit and introduced the delegation to SDC’s academic activities and the strong collaboration between Danish and Chinese research environments.

The Minister also had a chance to talk to students from Public Management and Social Development who attended classes with Danish professor Anders Ryom Villadsen during the delegation’s visit. The students shared their personal experiences with the Minister and highlighted the academic benefits from studying in an intercultural setting.

Ms. Christina Egelund also met with UCAS Vice President, Wang Yanfen, where she stressed the importance of international collaboration on science and education to address the global challenges humanity faces and build a more sustainable future.

The visit at SDC was concluded with a lunch on campus before the delegation returned to Beijing to meet with representatives from Danish companies in China.
